Important Information about the Parade Route for Participants...

PARADE ROUTE CHANGE:  Please note that the parade will begin in Lambertville and end at Waterloo Street in New Hope.  Remember the bridge is an open grate - please contact me immediately if you will have animals or participants who are not able to safely cross the bridge and we will arrange for them to join in New Hope.

PARADE CONFIRMATION:  Parade confirmations and instructions are being sent out 5/8

SET-UP AND OPERATIONS:  All parade participants are to check in at the appropriate Parade Registration table at one of the 2 staging areas.  Set-up can continue until  the parade begins at 11:30.  Please note that any outstanding payments are due at the time of registration.  All members of your group will also be required to sign a waiver in order to participate in the parade - please have this completed in advance and submit at registration.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND STAGING AREA: Registration is at the entrance of the access road to the Holcombe Jamison Farmstead (near the Toll Bridge).  Upon registration you will be given your parade number and directed to your staging area on the access road.  Once the vehicles are lined up, they will be escorted down Route 29 to Delevan Street.  Vehicles will be held on Delevan Street until the parade begins at 11:30.  NOTE:  The access road is paved, however please use caution as there is loose gravel and the road is a little rough.

Permitted dimensions of a float or vehicle are 16 ft wide, 12 ft high and 4 tons.  There are several areas of low clearance driving through Lambertville and we must abide by all rules and regulations of NJ, PA and the Bridge Commission.  Any float greater than 12 ft in height places the people on the float at risk becoming entangled in traffic lights, overhanging trees, etc.

NON-VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND STAGING AREA:  Registration is at the corner of Union and York Streets.  Upon registration you will be given your parade number and directed to your staging area on York Street.

PARKING:  THE MAJORITY OF PARADE PARTICIPANTS SHOULD PLAN ON PARKING IN NEW HOPE.  THERE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED PARKING DUE TO ROAD CLOSURES CAUSED BY THE PARADE.

If you are reporting to the Farm Staging area:  There is very limited parking (about 25 parking spots) at the vehicle staging area which is approximately 1.4 miles from the New Hope Lambertville free bridge (this is a long walk after walking the parade route).    We recommend that larger groups meet in the high school lot, leave a vehicle and carpool over (think tubing!).

If you are reporting to the York Street Staging Area:  Any groups walking in the parade should also park in New Hope and walk across the bridge to the registration area in Lambertville at the corner of Union and York Streets.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

TRASH REMOVAL:  Vendors are responsible for the removal of their own trash/garbage from their booth site and clean up their site.

Participants are expected to abide by all applicable New Hope Borough and Commonwealth of PA laws.  We look forward to each parade participant acting with dignity and respect toward all they may encounter along the parade route.

Since this is an open grate bridge, please use extra caution when crossing.  It is not recommended that you wear high heels while crossing the bridge.  If you have animals or anyone who cannot safely cross the bridge, let me know so we can arrange for them to join in PA.  Motorcycle/scooter drivers - you will need to wear your helmets until you reach PA.

The NHC Pride Planning Committee and New Hope Borough Police Department, in order to hold a safe event, controls the speed of parade vehicles, number of units and prohibits the throwing of candy and other objects into the crowd of spectators.  Violators are subject to ejection from the parade.  You may hand out objects or literature to one person at a time.   Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the parade or in the parade staging area.  Persons deemed to be visibly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to participate in the parade.
